The Best Eyelash Extension Adhesives

The Best Eyelash Extension Adhesives

The secret to bold, beautiful, and luxurious lashes? It’s in the eyelash extension glue. Choosing the right lash extension adhesive is one of the most important considerations when applying false lashes. Low-quality adhesives are uncomfortable, become hard and flaky upon drying, and can cause pain and discomfort to the client.

Two of the most important factors to consider when applying lash extensions are the relative humidity level and temperature of your workplace. Some lash adhesives thrive in lower humidity, while others are designed to work in a variety of climates. Read today’s blog to learn about some of the best eyelash glue on the market today:

Signature Bond Adhesive

This adhesive is perfect for pretty much every lash enthusiast—whether volume or classic-trained. This is our most compatible adhesive at Sugarlash PRO, and offers up to eight weeks of hold, low fumes, and optimal flexibility. Signature Bond Adhesive works in environments with a wide range of humidity levels, from 20 to 75% rH. Be sure to keep your thermostat below 23 degrees C, though, as this adhesive will become gummy and ineffective in high temperatures.

Bond Noir Adhesive

With a strong hold and dry time of only 0.5 seconds, Bond Noir is one of our most durable products. This adhesive works best at 45 to 55% rH, and can last for up to eight weeks. Bond Noir does not like temperatures over 23 degrees C, so if you live in a hot climate, be sure to monitor your temperature and have an air conditioner in place. Bond Noir Adhesive is glossy black in colour and has a thin viscosity with low fumes.

Naked Adhesive

This adhesive is made without black colourant. This is the perfect option for clients with sensitive eyes and skin, who experience allergic reactions often caused by Carbon Black. With a drying time of only two seconds, optimal flexibility, and a hold of up to eight weeks, this product is a sensitive adhesive that doesn’t compromise on hold. Naked Adhesive functions best in 45 to 55% rH.

Tips for Storing and Using Eyelash Extension Adhesives

  • Adhesives should be kept in an airtight container filled with a silica pack or rice at room temperature.

  • Adhesives should never be stored in the fridge.

  • Prior to use, all adhesive should be shaken for at least three minutes.

  • Always be sure to isolate the lash before applying adhesive.

  • Extensions should always be dipped in adhesive. Adhesive should not shimmied or brushed onto the lash extension.

  • If humidity levels are low, the adhesive will cure slower. If humidity levels are high, it will cure faster and make it difficult for the eyelashes to be properly put in place.

What if My Adhesive Is…

Sticky? Your adhesive has spoiled due to unfavourable temperatures of improper storage.

Separated? Your adhesive has been negatively affected by heat or moisture.

Producing a whitish haze on lashes? This is called “blooming” or “frosting” and is caused when adhesive cures too quickly. To avoid this problem, try misting or fanning throughout the appointment, and forgo primer.

Showing poor retention? This problem is caused by improper storage and workspace humidity. Try buying less adhesive at a time to avoid spoiling.

The key to long-lasting eyelash extensions is using a quality adhesive. At Sugarlash PRO, we offer some of the best eyelash extension adhesives designed for use by professional lash artists. All our extensions have a three-month shelf life, and can be used for six to eight-weeks, once opened. Unopened adhesive can be frozen for up to 12 months, and must be defrosted at least four hours prior to use.
