Top Lash Looks — Golden Globes 2019

The Golden Globes was the first major awards show of 2019, and the stars brought the excitement, optimism, and freshness of a new year into their makeup looks. We rounded up our favourites of the night:

No one pulls out show-stopping red carpet looks with such regularity like Lady Gaga. From meat dresses to Ziggy Stardust-inspired eyeshadow, she never blends in. For the Globes, Lady Gaga went for monochromatic periwinkle to truly magical effect, proving that even her more classic, understated looks are ahead of the curve. The hair, the shadow, and even the jewels played into the icy blue and lavender tones in her Valentino gown, and it was all set off gorgeously with a glam voluminous set of lashes.

Constance Wu’s simple, yet stunning beauty centred on radiant skin, flushed cheeks and lips, and fluffy lashes. Concentrating the lashes on the outer corners of the Crazy Rich Asians actress created a beautiful, soft winged effect that compliments the overall romantic, ethereal feel of the look.

We know that Danai Gurira loves a dramatic lash look on the red carpet, and the Golden Globes was no exception. Full volume lashes were on display, along with luminous skin and a rich, berry lip — Hollywood glam at its finest.

Allison Janney may have worked in the industry for nearly 30 years, but recently, her career trajectory is sky-high — just like THOSE. LASHES. Her incredible long, wispy lashes put the focus on her gorgeous blue lashes, playing nicely off the aqua in her Christian Siriano gown and jaw-dropping David Webb necklace.

Fluffy, big hair, glittery smokey eyes, slinky spangled gown, and voluminous lashes — Thandie Newton’s look is a disco dream. She went full Studio 54 with a smokey eye that featured a slight sparkle, and dark, long lashes that added definition to her 70s glam vibe.

From the blonde locks to the doll-like makeup, Lucy Boynton was 60s-esque on the Globes red carpet. The Bohemian Rhapsody star went with an understated face to ensure her eyes were the focus: copper, double-winged eyeshadow paired with precisely-clumped, Twiggy-inspired, extra-long lashes kept all eyes on her.

Lupita Nyong’o is sending us a message. And that message is COLOUR LASHES ARE IN — THIS IS NOT A DRILL. Her 80’s-inspired cobalt lashes and liner were electrifying with her royal blue gown, contrasting with a rich red lip, making for one of the most memorable looks of the night.
